Using QIS spam tagging with Outlook Express.

To use QIS.net spam tagging with Outlook Express you must first turn on Spam Subject Tagging. To turn this on, click on the Settings link above and once you are logged in, click on the Spam Settings icon. Once on the Spam settings page, click on the Preferences link, check the box next to "Tag Subject", and click on Save Settings. This will make any mail marked as spam have ***SPAM*** in the Subject line, and Outlook Express can filter those letters to a spam folder or your Deleted Items folder.

To Configure Outlook Express

  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. Click on the Tools menu at the top and move your mouse over Message Rules and click on Mail and press "New".
  3. Click in the box "Where the Subject line contains specific words" so there is a check in the box.
  4. In the 3rd box down titled Rule Description, you'll see that the rule will be added and "contains specific words" will be highlighted in blue.
  5. Click on the blue letters and you'll be able to specify what words trigger the letter to be filtered. Type ***SPAM*** in the box and hit the Add button.
  6. QIS.net recommends saving your spam to a separate folder so that you can review it for any mis-tagged messages. To do this:
    1. Check the box that says Move it to the specified folder
    2. Now, in the 3rd box, click on the word specified
    3. Click the New Folder button, and create a folder called Spam
    4. Select your new Spam folder from the list of folders, and click OK
If you really want to delete all spam, you can simply select the Delete it checkbox.
  7. Hit OK, and you'll have created your Spam message rule.
