Text Box: Volunteers As a congregation we state that our mission is to make Christ known through worship, service, learning, outreach and loving one another. We perform these tasks with the help of volunteers. For example, look how many members are required for worship: ushers, greeters, readers, communion assistants, acolytes, altar guild, bell ringers, choir and worshippers. That covers the entire congregation. All of us have an important role in our weekend worship. Service: Table of Grace, Least of These Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, Cheyenne River Reservation, The Invisible Children of Uganda, NESAP, World Hunger, Lutheran World Relief. These are a few of the ministries that we support with volunteer help, along with our prayers and our financial support. If you took the time to count all the ministry tasks our congregation supports in our mission to make Christ known, the number of participants and the number of volunteer hours would astonish you. If you read your Bible you have to notice that few volunteered to perform the work of the Lord. All were called by God to follow his Son, Jesus, to do what he did. Listen to God’s call to you. Participate in his mission. Give of your time, talent and treasure joyfully and generously. In so doing, you will be a partner in something bigger and greater than you could ever imagine. You will be doing the work of God.
