The McCollough Effect - An On-line Science Exhibit
"I know what you are thinking: this is a simple afterimage effect. If you think so, walk away from your terminal until you think the after image should be gone. Go home and try it in the morning. Then take a look. Or better, simply rotate the image. Well, maybe that isn't so simple with a CRT."

Neurotic, a Quake2 MOD
When you kill someone you don't get a frag. When you die you don't lose a frag. "Eh?" you're thinking. "Then how do I get points?"
Well when somebody dies and gibs, their head is left behind. Pick it up to get a point. Sounds simple? You may think so, but these heads have attitude. They are volatile. They are dangerous. They are BOUNCY. Try it and see. You may suffer more damage from your enemy's head than you did from the enemy...
[note, I haven't tried it, I just enjoy the description]
