Oops, forgot the reference for that:

15 CFR Ch. VII (1𢴎2 Edition) part 760.2

posted at 11:08 PM

This law was passed in 1977 in response to Arab boycotting of Israeli products, to make it illegal for US citizens (or "persons" which in the definition of this law includes corporations and any part of the US Government itself) to be an "enabler" in such boycotts.

I have to wonder if this means that companies that are boycotting French companies or individuals are violating Customs laws?

15 CFR Ch. VII (1𢴎2 Edition) Pt. 760
rules and regulations of the U.S. Customs
Service.
PART 760桼ESTRICTIVE TRADE
PRACTICES OR BOYCOTTS

PROHIBITION AGAINST REFUSALS TO DO
BUSINESS
Sec. 760.2 Prohibitions.

(1) No United States person may:
refuse, knowingly agree to refuse, re-quire
any other person to refuse, or
knowingly agree to require any other
person to refuse, to do business with or
in a boycotted country, with any busi-ness
concern organized under the laws
of a boycotted country, with any na-tional
or resident of a boycotted country,
or with any other person, when
such refusal is pursuant to an agree-ment
with the boycotting country, or a
requirement of the boycotting country,
or a request from or on behalf of the
boycotting country.
(2) Generally, a refusal to do business
under this section consists of action
that excludes a person or country from
a transaction for boycott reasons. This
includes a situation in which a United
States person chooses or selects one
person over another on a boycott basis
or takes action to carry out another
person抯 boycott-based selection when
he knows or has reason to know that
the other person抯 selection is boycott-based.
(3) Refusals to do business which are
prohibited by this section include not
only specific refusals, but also refusals
implied by a course or pattern of conduct.
There need not be a specific offer
and refusal to constitute a refusal to
do business; a refusal may occur when
a United States person has a financial
or commercial opportunity and declines
for boycott reasons to consider
or accept it.
(4) A United States person抯 use of either
a boycott-based list of persons
with whom he will not deal (a so-called
憫blacklist拻) or a boycott-based list of
persons with whom he will deal (a so-called
憫whitelist拻) constitutes a re-fusal
to do business.

Would you like double grease with that?: 1/16/99
"Sodolak makes his chicken-fried bacon by double-dipping uncooked bacon strips in milk and flour. Then he tosses the breaded strips in a Fryolator and nukes them in animal/vegetable oil for three or four minutes.
"For that final touch, the chicken-fried bacon is served with a bowl of cream gravy."

Four toast points form the hellmouth
A sample from a website much like Lilek's "Gallery of Regrettable Food":
"Well, as adjectives for mackerel go, you could do worse than "snappy." Snappy! So snappy you need three glasses of cranberry juice to wash it down! So snappy they've placed it in a special roped-off area! Don't get too close to the casserole! 'Cause it'll SNAP at ya! Ha! Ha! SNAPPY!"
