This might have been the most fun project I've made so far. It was fun because it was so different from my usual woodworking projects that I undertake. No drawers to build, no panels to glue up, no truck load of lumber to buy, load, plane, and size ! The bend of the body is actually a very thin slice of cherry that I made on the bandsaw, attached to a kerf-bent mold. This particular clock works are the modern quartz kind. I opted not to get the authentic key-wound, official gong-type mechanism after finding out the cost $$. The clock is looking better and better as it ages naturally with time.

I had always wanted to build a nice mantle clock, so I decided to make one as a Christmas present. The plans came from, once again, WoodSmith Magazine. The clock is made of Cherry and is finished with my usual tong oil/poly wipe on finish.
