This cradle is made of cherry. I built it for friends, Debbie and Jeff,who were having their first baby. Despite my usual "speed-of-light" craftsmanship I was able to complete it before the baby was born ! The cradle plans came from one built in Woodsmith magazine. I bought the spindles from them. The finish consists of an oil/poly wipe-on from General Finishes. The cradle knocks down for storage also.
I've had several people send me e-mail requesting the plans for this cradle. They are available from Woodsmith Magazine - issue # 48. Do yourself a favor if you don't already get Woodsmith, buy the issue for the cradle plans and sign yourself up for a subscription. You'll enjoy the magazine, especially because it has no advertisements (well, except for those stupid subscription cards which keep falling out on the floor) :-)
