Artist
Patricia Bennett
Patricia Bennett specializes in oil portraits and flower still lifes. Her painting technique is fluid and appears spontaneous, with a strong focus on the feeling of the interaction of light with matter. She paints at her studio located in downtown Baltimore near the Harbor. Patricia Bennett received a B.A. in physics from Reed College, then attended the Art Institute of Chicago for a year. Next, she studied under Grace Cole, a Chicago portrait painter until she discovered the Schuler school atelier program in Baltimore, Maryland. While completing the four-year Schuler program with a post-graduate year, she studied under Matt Zoll and attended a workshop with David Leffel in Taos. Recently, Patricia was a finalist in the national Artist Magazine still-life competition, and one of her paintings was included in a Baltimore Magazine article about Baltimore art.
