The digital novel noir
A fine arts photographer is creating a graphic novel in Baltimore about Edgar Allen Poe. He uses a digital camera and composites his art shots in Photoshop to get the "look" he needs. "Five ruffians have surrounded Edgar Allan Poe outside a Baltimore bar, and Steven Parke, digital camera in hand, is telling a one-armed thug to step back and lift his club higher over the poet's head." This story has nothing to do with software, or the web, or programming at all. It's about people using technology to create art - near my home with tools I like to use.
