Defying Grafitti
Since I'm obviously in a Newton mood, I'll finish up with a link to GNUton. This seems like an ambitious project to develop not only an open source Newtonscript - but a hardware reference platform too. I don't know how far along they have gotten - nor have I played with the code.

Research into "Green"
Following Bill Kearney's links from the previous article - here is further comment on the "Green" project.
After digesting Bill Kearney's comments on the previous entry, I went and read all of Newton Script-designer Walter Smith's papers on the design of the object store and scripting language. Newton Script is an incredibly well designed system. I appreciate it now more than before I read the papers.

Reinventing the Newton?
Green might be interesting. Lua might be very interesting....
As someone that was a Newton developer and hacked deep into it's very core, there's a LOT more to the Newton than the window manager.
