Jeremiah Rogers' first essay on Instant Outlining. It's a good one. I'll be writing a few myself. BTW, here's the OPML version of my instant outline. It changes all the time. This is called Instant Outlining, or I/Oing for short. "It's fresh. It's buggy. And it's yummy." Just a small part of The World Outline, which makes a great acronym. Hehee. [Scripting News]

Blog Etiquette
Just when you thought it was safe to post your own views with total freedom you realize that blogging is a communal activity, and community needs social conventions. Nick Denton explores the niceties involved in personal publishing.In traditional journalism, there are some codes of behavior. For instance, if you meet someone at a social occasion, there is a general presumption that conversations are off-the-record. Blogging is younger. Some of the rules of conduct translate from ordinary social interaction, and journalistic practices. But I still have some etiquette questions. I'm hoping the weblog world has its Ann Landers. I'll publish all sensible answers. Here are the questions.

Journalistic Pivot Points
Dan Gillmor: Whoa. I'm still not entirely sure what happened. But I do know this. My journey in journalism hit a pivot in that moment. Maybe journalism itself hit a pivot point, as pretentious as that sounds. All I know for sure is that I'm jazzed that it happened, and I'm going to think about it, hard. This little article is an example of the different emergent behaviors that are occurring constantly as people explore simple tools to deliver their voice to the web. This might not have an analog in day-to-day business, but there will be other phenomena like this. Or maybe there is a direct connection: should someone be blogging JavaOne or DIA for the rest of the company? Could be... [Tomalak's Realm]
