Putting His Camcorder Where His Mouth Is
From the Sunday Washington Post comes an article documenting a neophyte's first attempt at digital movie-making. This is probably a follow-up to an earlier discussion of iMovie. The article assumes some familiarity with the jargon of production (transitions, dissolves). My initial attempt was to film a bike trip around szuthern Maryland, but when I looked at my footage, I had so concentrated on the cutaways that I never got the wide overall shots -- or the scenery -- that were critical. I tried to make up for some of the loss by filming part of the route from the car window on the way home, but it didn't look right. [MacSurfer]
