What is Ultimate?: Ultimate
is a non-contact field sport that combines elements of soccer, football and
basketball in a fast-paced, high action game, played with a flying disc, where
everyone is a quarterback, receiver and defender. The object of the game is for a team to pass
the disc from player to player until a pass is completed to a teammate in the
endzone resulting in a score. Any time
the disc is dropped or intercepted then the other team gets possession.
Attire: All you
need is a white shirt and a dark shirt. These are used to distinguish the
different teams. Most people wear cleats which helps with traction, but they
are not required. Tennis shoes will do just fine. You will also want to bring
some water as folks do tend to work up a thirst.
Who?: You! All ages are welcome and encouraged to
participate. There is a strong emphasis on having fun and getting new players
involved. We are looking for: Everyone! (grade school, middle school,
high school, adults) - boys, girls, men and women – families, brothers,
sisters, moms and dads.
· New players will get instruction and skills training
· Most nationwide Ultimate teams are Co-Ed, requiring at
least two women on the field at all times.
· Experienced players will lead and instruct new players
· Parents are highly encouraged to play.
· Multiple fields will allow grouping by skills / age.
· Parents of Grade School age players must stay and
support play.
Cost?: Summer Pickup
League play is free for Students, $5 for individuals and $10 for the entire
family. Come and try it – we know you’ll
have F.U.N.
